Meet the team
Blue Monday have spent forever and a day developing inspirational event concepts and client relationships that only come through the personal service we provide and having that genuine desire to go the extra mile.
Upon receiving a brief, we head straight to the concept cave and get our thinking caps on with you and your end goal in mind. Meet the people that will be working on your behalf…
Rory
After many years working both on and off stage in theatre, Rory realised that his passion for the ‘Show’ was what motivated him. He then spent the next 10 years working in the temporary structure business, working on some of the biggest and most prestigious events the World over. In 2003 Rory decided it was time to go it alone and use his talents to deliver complete projects for clients and that was when Blue Monday was born.
Mell
The newbie at BM HQ, Mell is our pink haired girl who loves to cook, sew and travel. Mell was based in London for over 20 years, living the fast life and spent her spare time on her sailing boat exploring the world, her favourite destination being South America. Having moved to Nottingham 2 years ago, she has fulfilled her dream of having a dog and is now enjoying the countryside and a quieter way of life. In the office, Mell keeps the accounts (and us!) in check with her keen eye for detail and years of book keeping experience.
Clara
Clara joined the Blue Monday gang equipped with a background in pharma conference management and marketing. A list-lover and spreadsheet fanatic, Clara will ensure all aspects of our silent auctions are organised thoroughly and meticulously. She also manages the guest’s winning prizes and holidays down to a T!
Wendy
Having been with the company for over 11 years, Wendy is no stranger to the way we roll. Over the years she has worked on and run some of the biggest events that Blue Monday have been involved with. Her exceptional skills in client handling and management of a team have proved invaluable again and again. Her sense of humour keeps us all motivated, even at our busiest periods. We would be totally lost without her!
Lottie
Lottie first worked an event for Blue Monday when she was just 16 years old, hence the nickname ‘Baby’. But don’t let the nickname fool you, she means business. Her tenacity and dedication makes her a great events manager and she’s our go-to-girl anytime we need an extra helping hand. In between her Blue Monday stints she studies Geography at Nottingham Trent University and has spent time abroad doing volunteer work in Africa.
Alice
Alice knew very early on where her passions lay and got herself a degree in Events Management at Leeds Metropolitan University. She has refined her skills working in various areas of the industry, including top hotels, London’s prestigious ExCel Arena and arranging bespoke client experiences throughout the UK. Her enthusiasm and ‘nothing’s too much trouble’ work ethos makes her an invaluable member of the team who is admired by colleagues and clients alike.
Chris
It’s a warm welcome to Chris, who is joining the BM team as our Business Development Manager. Chris has worked in framing and memorabilia for what he will tell you "feels like forever". His main passion is rugby and is constantly buying the latest signed shirt, so, if you are interested in having a Silent Auction at your event, framing up your favourite signed shirt or sourcing amazing pieces of Memorabilia, Chris is your man!
Laura
After her exotic travels to the likes of Fiji, New Zealand and Australia, Laura joins the team with a positive and bubbly spirit, ready to tackle the world of business development. Laura studied Business Management at University and will play a key role in developing the silent auction side of the business. Using social media and other marketing platforms, she’ll be shouting about our charity auctions and fundraising efforts! A fitness fanatic, Laura is a keen gym goer and is always found with a fruity snack to hand!
